Academic Skills Assessment for Children (aged 5+) & Adults

Learning Assessment

Learning assessments explore skills in reading, writing, spelling, and mathematics, and identify specific learning differences.

Why Assessments Matter

What are the benefits of Learning Assessments

Assessments help understand why learning may feel difficult and identifies the most effective supports. Early, targeted intervention reduces academic stress, supports self-esteem, and promotes more positive learning experiences. Learning assessments can help identify both learning disorders (e.g., dyslexia, dysgraphia, dyscalculia, also called Specific Learning Disorders in Reading, Written Expression and Numeracy) and giftedness, when interpreted alongside the broader cognitive and functional profile of the individual.

Learning assessment approach

How our learning assessments are different

We consider learning within the full neurodevelopmental profile, including attention, memory, and emotional factors. Our experience in neurodiversity supports identification of less obvious learning differences, including those masked by strengths in other areas.

We also consider the impact of school environment and stress, and can adapt the assessment setting (including home-based options) to reduce overwhelm and obtain a clearer picture of skills.

Potential measures

Potential measures

  • Intellectual functioning (IQ, reasoning, working memory, processing speed, verbal and non-verbal abilities) (WISC-V / WPPSI / WAIS)

Reading profile

  • Reading comprehension and decoding skills (word reading, fluency, phonological processing) (YARC)

Fees

Learning Assessment Fees

Standalone Cognitive (IQ) Assessment - $1,400

When learning assessments are completed alongside ADHD, cognitive (IQ), and/or autism assessments, reduced fees apply to reflect the overlap between assessment components.
