What does neuroaffirming mean
A neuroaffirming approach recognises that brains work in different ways, and that these differences are natural variations rather than something to be “fixed.” It focuses on understanding each person’s strengths, needs, and lived experience, while supporting areas of difficulty in a respectful and practical way.

Why have an assessment?
Assessments can help clarify how someone thinks, learns, and functions in everyday life. They can provide answers to long-standing questions and support diagnosis where relevant, guiding practical supports at home, school, or work. They can also support a stronger sense of self-understanding and belonging, helping people make sense of their experiences and feel less alone. Over time, this increased understanding and clarity can contribute to improved confidence, coping, and mental health outcomes.
What type of assessments do you offer?
We offer a range of assessments, including ADHD, autism, cognitive (IQ), learning, and broader neuropsychological assessments, as well as multidisciplinary assessments for more complex presentations.
What's the process?
The process typically includes:
Initial discussion and planning
Assessment sessions
Scoring and interpretation
A comprehensive report
Feedback session to discuss results and recommendations
How do I get started?
We can get in touch via email or the contact form. We can discuss your needs and help determine the most appropriate assessment
What to expect when I arrive?
We aim to create a calm, welcoming, and flexible environment. The process will be explained clearly, with breaks as needed
Video link
If part of your process is online, a video link will be sent before the appointment with clear instructions for joining.
How long do assessments go for?
This depends on the type of assessment. Most assessments are completed in a 3-4-hour session, with breaks as needed.
Sessions can be split across multiple days if this feels more manageable. We can also organise interviews beforehand (e.g., online) to reduce the length of the face-to-face assessment day and make the process more comfortable.
How do I pay for appointments?
Payment details will be provided at booking. Flexible payment plans are available where needed
What if I need to cancel?
Please provide as much notice as possible if you need to cancel or reschedule. This allows the appointment to be offered to someone else who may be waiting. Cancellation policies will be outlined at the time of booking.
Refunds are applied as follows:
100% refund for cancellations made more than 4 weeks prior to the assessment
50% refund for cancellations made between 2-4 weeks prior
No refund for cancellations made less than 2 weeks prior
What are the limits to confidentiality?
Your information is kept confidential, with some limits required by law (e.g., risk of harm to self or others, or legal requirements). These will be explained clearly at the start of the process
How is information collected and stored?
Information is collected through interviews, questionnaires, and assessment tools. All data is stored securely in line with professional and legal standards
How neuropsychological assessments support NDIS applications
Assessments can provide detailed evidence of functional strengths and support needs, which may assist in NDIS access or plan reviews. Reports are written to be clear, practical, and aligned with real-world functioning
AI
AI may be used in limited ways (e.g., to support administrative tasks or drafting). All clinical work, interpretation, and reports are completed and reviewed by a qualified neuropsychologist. AI is not used for clinical decision-making, formulation, or diagnostic opinions. Confidentiality and data security are maintained in line with professional and legal standards.
Supervision

What is a supervisor in the world of Psychology?
