Intellectual Functioning Assessment for Children (aged 3+) & Adults

IQ Assessment

An intellectual functioning assessment (also known as an IQ assessment) focuses specifically on intellectual functioning and core thinking abilities. This includes reasoning, verbal comprehension, visual-spatial skills, working memory, and processing speed.

It provides an overview of how a person learns and processes information, and helps identify cognitive strengths and weaknesses that may influence learning, work, or everyday problem-solving. IQ assessments can help identify both intellectual disability and giftedness, when interpreted alongside the broader cognitive and functional profile of the individual.

Why Assessments Matter

What are the benefits of IQ Assessments

Understanding intellectual functioning can help explain learning differences, guide educational or workplace supports, and provide a clearer picture of how someone best processes and retains information. It can also assist in identifying giftedness or intellectual disabilities and inform appropriate adjustments and expectations.

Cognitive (IQ) assessment approach

How our cognitive (IQ) assessments are different

Our IQ assessments focus on more than a single score. We provide a detailed profile of thinking and learning abilities, interpreted within the context of neurodiversity, attention, motivation, and emotional factors that may influence performance.

We also consider factors such as masking, fatigue, and testing environment to ensure results are as accurate and representative as possible. Where helpful, assessments can be completed in flexible settings, including home-based options.
