About the clinic

Meet Dr Garance Delagneau

I’m Garance (or G), a clinical neuropsychologist with a focus on neurodiversity and trauma across children, adolescents, and adults. I grew up in New Caledonia, a French Pacific island. My training has since taken me across several countries.

I completed a Bachelor of Biomedical Science in Montreal, followed by Honours and a Graduate Diploma (Advanced) at the University of Melbourne, and a combined Master and PhD at Monash University.

I have worked in private practice, developing experience in neurodiversity and trauma, particularly in complex and overlapping presentations.

This international background continues to shape how I approach culture, identity, and access to care, recognising each person within their broader context. A neuroaffirming perspective views these differences as natural variations, while still supporting areas of need.

Outside of neuropsychology, I enjoy spending time outdoors and in the ocean. You’ll often find me hiking, freediving, scuba diving, or planning my next adventure. I also enjoy underwater hockey, photography, and time with friends over boardgames. At home, I spend time with my dog, Tenia.

My work

Helping people understand how their brain works

My work focuses on helping people understand how their brain works in a way that feels meaningful and relevant to everyday life, beyond labels or scores.

I work at the intersection of neurodiversity and trauma, with a particular interest in complex or overlapping presentations (e.g., ADHD, autism, learning differences, and developmental or relational trauma).

I provide individualised, strength-based assessments designed to feel clear, respectful, and useful, with practical recommendations that can be applied across home, school, work, and other settings. Based in Wollongong, I also travel to regional and remote communities throughout the year to improve access where services are often hardest to find.

I aim to:

  • Provide clarity where things have felt difficult to untangle
  • Highlight strengths alongside areas where support can make a meaningful difference
  • Offer explanations that make sense to both individuals and the people around them
  • Deliver recommendations that are realistic, practical, and tailored to each context

Assessments are collaborative and responsive, recognising each person as the expert in their own experience, while I bring clinical knowledge to help make sense of the broader picture.

My Approach
